Western Plains Animal Refuge
A non-profit organization dedicated to helping domestic and wild animals.
Adopt

Although every animal is different in his or her own way, they all share a common need—a loving family in a good home. The adoption process is simple and the rewards are beyond measure. If you are ready for a new family member, submit an adoption application or contact us.

Animals

Our animals are our top priority and we want to ensure that they are placed in good homes. We will also take them back at any point during their lives, if needed. All of our animals are spayed or neutered and vaccinated prior to adoption, unless prohibited by their age, health, or species. We also take care of any other health needs they have while with us. If the animal you adopt is too young or experiencing health issues, we will make arrangements for their veterinary care.

Process

The adoption process begins by completing an adoption application. Once your application has been reviewed, a volunteer will contact you to set up an adoption meeting and a home visit. If you are approved to adopt based on the meeting and visit, we will schedule an ideal time to finalize the adoption. If adoptions do not work out, we will take our animals back at any point. Adopters must be at least 21 years old, able to have an animal in their home, and present a valid identification card at the time of adoption.
